A tiger and a donkey were having an argument. The donkey said, “The grass is blue,” but the tiger disagreed, “No, the grass is green.” Their dispute became heated, so they decided to take the matter to the lion, the king of the jungle, for a final judgment.
The donkey approached the lion and said, “Your Majesty, isn’t it true that the grass is blue?” The lion replied, “If you believe so, the grass is blue.” The donkey was delighted and continued to insist that the grass was blue, even calling the tiger foolish.
The lion, however, sentenced the tiger to silence for a few days. The tiger, bewildered, asked, “Why am I being punished when the grass is green?” The lion explained, “You are not punished because of the color of the grass, but because it is degrading to argue with a fool, and because you have disturbed the peace of the jungle with your arguments.”
The moral of the story is that arguing with someone who refuses to see reason is pointless and can lead to unnecessary trouble.
